All Out and All In (Newsletter #2)
Hi, my name is Abhilash Mohapatra. If you renew here: I’m a 15-year-old student at Lycée International (a unique school) near Paris, France. and a first-year innovator.
For the past month, I have been furiously working as hard as I can. I have been going “all out”. At the same time after this challenge if feel spent: “all in”. Hence this month’s title
Hackathon
My team (Ivan Osarentin, Idhant Ranjan, Joy Agrawal) and I participated in the TKS hackathon and we managed to win the best vision award. Our idea was using Crispr Cas9 we would genetically modify bamboo and then place certain strategic points thanks to DEM(Digital Elevation Modeling) as filters for free radicals. If you want to know more check out our beautiful slides.
During the Hackathon, I got to meet up with my now invaluable mentor and former TKS alumni: Jules Padova.
TKS x Ikea Challenge
For the past few weeks, I have been the project manager of an incredible project and team (Kohsuke Suzuki Olivia Avalos Villar and Jovana Urošević). we are working alongside Ikea to increase their customers in GenZ. We are building a professional-level recommendation deck. For now, I can’t say much more so stay tuned.
My Health And Wellness
It has been a great month. I made a lot of progress in many aspects (grades went up, challenge on the right track), and personal life. Unfortunately at the time of writing, I am a bit sour as I was not selected for game day. I understand the coach’s decision, I made a lot of mistakes throughout the month. I feel like I haven’t been able to find as much time as I would like for basketball. My goal for the next month is to prioritize this more because this lack of basketball has made me more irritable at times.
